Egalite International is a non-governmental public organisation that began its work in Ukraine in 2014.

The organisation aims to support democratic processes, socio-economic development of local communities, empower women and contribute to non-violent conflict resolution. Social entrepreneurship has been a strategic direction of the organisation since 2018. According to various estimates, about 1000 enterprises in Ukraine position themselves as social. They form 0.08% of the country’s GDP and 0.41% of the labour market. Unfortunately, the country has not yet adopted appropriate legislation and effective support programs, so social business is experiencing many restrictions, including the Covid-19 pandemic. It needs support from the government, the civil sector, financial institutions, and the international community

Projects of Egalite International for social entrepreneurs:

The EUnlocking project helps to foster the social entrepreneurial potential of young people in Moldova and Ukraine by establishing a favourable ecosystem for social enterprises, as well as by inspiring and supporting more young social entrepreneurs to develop and sustain their innovative solutions to the promotion of social inclusion and environmental sustainability across both countries. The project is funded by the European Union under its EU4Youth Programme.

(GSI) (Germany), “Egalite International” (Ukraine), AXA Management Consulting organisation (Moldova), ECO-RAZENI Association (Moldova), the National Assistance and Information Centre for NGOs in Moldova “CONTACT” (Moldova) and “Pro NGO! e.V” (Germany).

The Sustainable Social Entrepreneurship Project supports social businesses across the country regardless of the age or status of the founders. The project’s goal is to provide financial planning, fundraising and investor relations services. The project is implemented in the format of individual and group consultations and the creation of resources for training and quick access to up-to-date knowledge and skills on business, reporting, and access to financial instruments.

The project is implemented with funds from Egalite Analytics, a social enterprise, and contributions from individual sponsors.
